Spheros Environmental Recognized with Two 2025 EBJ Business Achievement Awards

Spheros Environmental has been recognized by Environmental Business Journal® (EBJ) with two 2025 Business Achievement Awards for:

  • Mergers & Acquisitions
  • Technology Merit: Environmental Monitoring & Modeling

The Environmental Business Journal Business Achievement Awards recognize firms demonstrating strategic growth and applied technical advancement across the environmental industry.

Strengthening Technical Depth Through Disciplined Integration

In 2025, Spheros completed four targeted acquisitions that strengthened technical depth and expanded geographic reach.

  • EcoAnalysts added more than 30 years of aquatic and terrestrial biology expertise, expanding advanced taxonomic and ecotoxicology capabilities.
  • Northwater Consulting reinforced water resources and geosciences services supporting watershed planning and groundwater modeling.
  • Four Peaks Environmental strengthened fisheries science, water resources, and permitting, ecological data services, and habitat assessment capabilities across six states.
  • Ironwood Consulting expanded terrestrial biological resources and complex permitting expertise supporting power, energy transition, mining, and capital projects in the Western United States.

These transactions expanded Spheros’ presence from 14 states to more than 20 and increased professional staff from 205 to 415 within the calendar year. Building on strong revenue growth in 2024, the 2025 integrations further strengthened Spheros’ ability to deliver coordinated environmental consulting services nationwide.

Integration efforts centered on aligning client focus, technical standards, quality expectations, governance practices, and shared systems that support consistent delivery across geographies and disciplines.

“Our growth strategy centers on deep technical expertise and delivering a more integrated set of environmental services for our clients, while building a culture that attracts and develops exceptional talent through meaningful growth opportunities and strong benefits.” said Andra Kidd, Chief Executive Officer of Spheros Environmental. “As environmental decisions become more complex and visible, consistency and scientific rigor are essential.”

Applied Technologies Supporting Regulatory Clarity

Spheros was also recognized for advancing applied technologies that improve compliance efficiency, strengthen data defensibility, and support more informed environmental and regulatory decision-making.

In 2025, the firm:

  • Optimized fenceline air quality sensor placement and automated regulatory reporting, reducing compliance cycle times by approximately 30 percent
  • Leveraged drone-based data collection to improve efficiency, accuracy, and spatial resolution of field surveys, supporting faster reporting and more defensible environmental analyses
  • Deployed hydrodynamic simulation models to evaluate desalination brine dispersion, integrating real-time environmental data to support siting decisions and minimize ecological risk
  • Enhanced ethylene oxide (EtO) and per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) detection methodologies, increasing analytical resolution in complex air quality programs
  • Implemented integrated digital workflows and automated dashboards that streamlined multi-jurisdictional permitting and accelerated project decision-making

Together, these advancements shortened permitting timelines, strengthened regulatory clarity, and improved transparency to help stakeholders and the public better understand projects being proposed, expanded, or considered in their communities.

Delivering with Discipline

As environmental oversight grows more complex and visible, clients require advisory support that combines scientific rigor, regulatory awareness, and coordinated execution across geographies and disciplines.

The 2025 recognitions reflect Spheros’ continued focus on disciplined growth and consistent technical excellence nationwide.
