The Challenge

Spheros Environmental evaluated the fuels and meteorological conditions that impacted the evolution of a wildfire. As part of this analysis, Spheros Environmental performed meteorological modeling with the Weather Research and Forecasting (WRF) model and smoke dispersion modeling with Bluesky Hysplit at a variety of spatial scales.

Our Solution

Spheros Environmental employees have advised government agencies, non-profits and private entities on multiple cases related to the environmental impacts of wildfires. Our earliest work dates to the late 2010’s, when we helped the USFS develop the Bluesky modeling technique and developed the Interagency Fuels Treatment Decision Support systems (IFTDSS) for the BLM. Our team comprehensively analyzes wildfires from pre-fire planning stages to postfire impact analyses.
