The Challenge

Rapid population growth and urban development across the Denver metro area is placing increased pressure on rivers and streams, particularly the South Platte River. Impacting both water quantity and quality. While vast amounts of water quality data existed across multiple agencies, it was fragmented and difficult to access. Decision-makers, researchers, and the public needed a clear, trusted way to understand water quality trends, watershed impacts, and why protecting water quality is important.

Our Solution

Spheros Environmental partnered with the South Platte Urban Waters Partnership to design and deliver an intuitive, web-based Water Quality Assessment Tool that brings complex data together in one accessible platform. The team integrated federal and state databases, built interactive maps, graphs, and tables, and developed engaging educational storylines to provide context. The result is a user-friendly tool that supports informed decision-making while empowering the public to explore and protect regional water resources.
